We are searching for a Director of Sales for our 83-room Candlewood Suites in Champaign, IL. 

This position will be responsible for:

  •  Managing accounts to achieve guest satisfaction

  •  Ensuring all revenue goals are achieved or exceeded by soliciting past and new business

  •  Effectively communicating with guests in a friendly and positive manner

  •  Meeting/exceeding client needs and resolving complaints

  •  Must have knowledge of departmental interaction and organizational structure in a hospitality context.

  •  Growing existing key accounts as well as soliciting new business and/or target groups to ensure that revenues meet or exceed budget

  •  Actively solicit via phone, telemarketing, in person to meet targeted goals

  •  Insure ongoing hotel sales of Corporate, Leisure, Tours & Travel and group segments are achieved through solicitation of organizations, professional market segment associations, travel agents, consortiums etc., on a consistent basis

  •  Meeting revenue goals

  •  Optimize revenue by monitoring all distribution channels

  •  Consult with the General Manager and Corporate Director of Revenue Management on rate/inventory suitability of potential  group business and review STAR Reports to insure hotel is positioned in the market properly

  •  Continually identify and solicit new clients or target groups


    Ideal candidates:

  •  Must have previous hotel sales experience

  •  Possess a proven track record in soliciting new and existing accounts to meet / exceed revenue goals through

  •  Be knowledgeable of competitive markets in and outside of area and be able to develop/maintain knowledge of market trends, competition and customers

  •  Have strong negotiation and interpretation of contracts skills and written communication skills

  •  Have a Strong commitment to team spirit

  •  Have excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills

    Salary commensurate with experience.

  • Extended-stay experience a plus

  • Knowledge of Intercontinental Hotel Group Systems (HOLIDEX, Opera, PERFORM, etc.)
